Probably never have as a good a chance to win the World Cup. New Zealand down to 14 for 25% of game. Those last phases
Of play were unreal. Barrett man of the match for that held up fry effort alone.

Tough beat that one. I was a bit gutted at the end and I'm not a rugby fan. New Zealand reminded me of the Real Madrid team who've broken our hearts. The sense of entitlement that comes with being the biggest giant in the sport, and the killer instinct and muscle memory of getting across the line in huge games.

They can have a few regrets there as It really wasn't the game to finally lose some discipline or be a little loose defensively but they did go out with their boots on. We've had some very good rugby teams over the last couple of decades but none come close to this one. Some big characters and greats will step aside now. A huge shame as I think had we got the job done today it really was on for us.

    Future still looks bright though.

Looked like after 19 mins in we might get another hiding by the all blacks. Battled well to get back into it. Only for the hold up by Barrett on the try line we would have won it

Feel very sorry for the lads on the team - hope that those who are not hanging up their boots can bounce back.

This team have given us some great memories.

By far the best game of the tournament was played tonight between France and South Africa. Hopefully we get a few more ties like this

Did indeed. Just outside Christchurch. Some very happy and very relieved locals all around us. Shook their hands and wished them well.

Was gutted. They may as well go on and win it now although I'd love an underdog story in Argentina.

I'd prefer South Africa to win it now as we beat them and would have been the only team to beat them in the tournament if they win it.

    France beat NZ
    NZ beat us
    We beat South Africa
    South Africa beat France
    Return to point 1...

Fine lines, we all beat one of the others but two are out and two remain, the draw was a killer.

What's the rules when a player is taking a kick? I've often seen the players charging out just as the kicker is striking the ball, but I've never know when they're allowed to do it and I've never seen a kick being blocked until last night.

Once he begins the run up you can charge. There's one from a babarians game a few years back the lad makes a move and stops and Stringer runs out and takes the ball off the tee on him. Its rare enough. The full back calling a scrum off the mark was a totally new one on me too.

Still a bit gutted after the other night, the Ireland game and the game last night were worthy semi finals, they really need to sort the draw out. I just thought Ireland started too slow and were a small bit off and it cost.

And the French lad sending a penalty backwards. 3 things I've never seen in a rugby game before.

The referees in rugby are worse than soccer based on this WC. England and South Africa can both be absolutely appalled by the refereeing tonight.

Only watched the end of the game however during the week on Second Captains they were saying Eoin Farrell was booed by own supporters during the tournament. That is very bizarre considering he is their best player and he scored everything for them tonight

Huge try in the 85th min for Leinster. A bonus point win guaranteeing a home tie in Q Finals. Over the Munster now to keep their Champions Cup alive.

Would I be right in saying that theres very little chance of a try not being scored in this match tonight?

I never like to put my neck on the line for anything but I'd say chances close to zero of no try.

Thats what I thought. So basically, a bet on that at even money is buying money.
