Think it's fair it has it's own thread by now. Threatening words being used a lot lately, Nuclear weapons now WW3. Seeing parts of Shevchenko Park in ruin just reminded me how quickly things can change by the actions of a mad man.
heard on the radio the general that was in charge for the pummeling of Syria has now been out in charge of the Ukraine operation so that would tie in with the increase in missile launches but I've also heard Russia are running out of missiles, not nuclear ones though.
Was only a matter of time before the mood changed with the media coverage, it's already changing with sections of the public. No surprise its Newstalk leading the charge. Had a bit of a day yesterday what with this dog whistle, and one of their journalists tweeting a racist meme and then pretending he was hacked.
Yeah, weird one alright. Hacker gets control of your account, tweets a meme on a subject you've just been talking about and coincidentally also on Twitter for IPhone, then doesn't tweet anything else or change the password. You get control of it back within minutes, delete the tweet but don't mention you've been hacked until you see people criticising you for it. Hasn't said another word about it since either.
"We talk about Putin trying to impose his will on the Ukrainian people. I find it no different than what's going on around the country where there's no consultation being made." What an actual shitbag indeed, possibly one of the more tone deaf things I've ever read from a public official and that is saying something in itself!
https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2022/1029/1332099-ukraine/ The levels of c*ntery since this invasion began would sicken you.
Interesting few days in Ukraine and for the good. Funny the Russians announcing retreat day after the red wave in America elections failed to appear..or just by pure chance.. anyway well done to the Ukrainian men and women
Very strange that the missiles were anywhere near the Polish border. And to land on a farm but still cause fatalities....what are the odds?
All happening in Russia today.. Wagner lads trying to take over.. don't think this is overly great for Ukraine
I think the infighting has to be positive for Ukraine. Wagner want a change in military leadership and Putin can't be seen to give in to their demands. One of them has to lose this battle. Wagner can't take over with their numbers. If they have serious support within the Russian military the best they can hope for is a coup. If that was to succeed would they continue the fight in Ukraine? If they don't get what they want they will be a thorn in Putin's side.
The inevitable early end came for the ex-leader of Wagner. Not through a hospital window like so many of Putin's enemies but instead it was a plane crash. I'm guessing it crashed in to a missile from a Russian jet. The other 9 passengers and crew were obviously just collateral damage.
To be fair to Putin on this particular issue the lad in question was openly in military opposition with the Russian state and may have Made a gunuine attempted to overthrow the Government by leading an army towards Moscow. He knew where this was going to end but you'd have to give it to the Russians, they know how to stage a theatrical accidental death.
Apparently it was a bomb disguised as a case of wine, the vlogger that was killed a while ago was blown up by a trophy disguised as a bomb.
I think we've long gone past the point where any sentence ever has to start with the words "to be fair to Putin"
