https://m.independent.ie/irish-news...ewsletter&utm_source=independent&utm_term=1-0 Over a tenner for a pint of Rockshore in Temple Bar. It was only a matter of time, but still hard to believe
That's crazy. Been about 8 years since I was in a Dublin pub so I'd no idea of prices. £2.30 for a Bulmers in my local when I started drinking.
When I went to college in Derry, the carlsberg was 1.90 sterling, that's 20 years ago right enough . Mind having 20 quid would get you well screwed
There was a place in Limerick back in the 90s called Feathery Burkes - all bottles of beer and cider were £1. Even then it was crazy cheap.
3 pints of Guinness for £5.00 - Beggars Bush 1994 ... the joke was that if it went above a fiver for three pints it was time to give up drinking!
Even in Dublin when I was in college 20 years ago there was a bar on the quays called the Croppy Acre which did €3 pints!
Laverys in Belfast when I was in college late 90s. 10 quid in and all you can drink. Was a few people pumped out in my class Kelly’s in Portrush - 1 pound a drink on Wednesday nights The Duke in Belfast - 1 pound a drink with vouchers from free Student magazine - managed to get our hands on over 100 magazines with 20 voucher per magazine The glory days. I remember going to Dublin for placement and a night out was at least 3 times more expensive (unless you had a cheeky Half bottle in coat pocket) don’t know how students in Dublin now can have a few good nights out a week. Probably too busy in the gym
Diceys have a few nights a week where it's €2 and €3 euro a drink. Think there's a few other bars that have similar on. So it's not as bad for the students (as most of them don't even have accommodation on the weekends)
Pub in the Isle of Man called Quids Inn…was there at a student festival in 1999. Pound entry, pound a drink. Can still smell the snake bite puke
Is it true that one of the lads charged over the crystal meth haul in Kerry has links to fine gael? Is so it's very surprising we're not hearing more about it. The initial reports last week mentioned one of the men arrested had links to politics but very little mention of it since, if any. Hopefully he hasn't made any political donations, that would be a terrible look
There is a new drone delivery service where I am. The neighbour got McDonald’s delivered from it gas looking, but definitely the future
Yeah it's a mad oul situation when you see something getting lowered from the drone in a neighbors garden. I think the delivery fee is still at the 10 euro range so it's prohibitive for mass rollout right now but I'm sure it will eventually come down significantly. Range is an issue too, right now I think it's 3/4 km range (obviously as the crow flies). I was actually just texting a neighbor who's used it and he thinks it was 5 delivery which is actually quite good.
No idea about the Fine Gael links but I know who he is. Google Ballyseedy Garden centre, I can name them because they have released a statement. The first name of the guy is the same as an Irish defender who helped us last week.

Kids off school tomorrow for this referendum Why couldn’t these two relatively minor pieces not have been combined with local elections or even next general election. What’s the urgency in having standalone elections for these as to me at least (not done much research to be fair) it’s not going to have a major impact. Only the kids are off school I am not even sure I’d remember it’s on. Be good to know how many houses could have been built with this cost of it.
