I’m exactly the same. Not getting a penny of me until the board are gone. The 3 on the fans jerseys is another thing that irritates me. My uncle passed away last week. He was 84 so had a great innings. Got me thinking of how quickly times goes by. He brought me to the USA in the summer of 1994 for the three Ireland group games. He told me a week before my Leaving Cert started. I couldn't believe it! Finished my leaving cert on the Thursday and we left for New York the next day. Anyway found these bad boys in my mum and dads house the other day.
Niall, I'm sorry to hear of your uncles passing. Sounds like he was a good man who cared for you a great deal, and will be missed. What a brilliant find from your Mum and Dad's I'd say that brought back a lot of amazing memories of what was likely an epic trip! You should definitely think of getting them framed (along with a jersey if you have one, or some other USA 94 merch) and hang it proudly so you'll always get to see them and reflect fondly upon the trip with your uncle.
