Seen a bus this evening with LFC personnel on the window. Are they in Dublin already or do staff travel in advance?
I don't know, but I'd have thought they'd travel this evening, do a little warm up tomorrow morning and then have the game tomorrow evening - possibly fly back late Saturday night given it's a short flight ?
Lfc foundation here today Coaching kids and doing some appearances A few ex players with them The squad will fly in tomorrow and go to the marker hotel I believe Same as United did. Not sure if they are staying sat night
The big red bus is getting around this summer. It was in Berlin then Munich....... I never remember the club bringing their own coach to European matches. Presume http://www.ellisonstravel.com/ are still the club's coach supplier, their website has not been updated in a very long time.
I'd imagine the incident with Dortmund has changed a lot of things. Ordinary buses probably won't cut it for top teams. Having 2 buses and sending one on in advance is a possible solution. The bus I seen wasn't the red one, it was a little bigger than a mini bus, a luxury 18 seater.
The Dortmund incident had never even crossed my mind when I replied to you. Just remembered Ellisons buses were used for both Tranmere and Wigan, probably so many players and coaches being brought to those games. Different seating configuration for 'the red bus' with a kitchen on board and lots more seating around tables. I think there is a certain amount of prestige in having your own coach at a game. In the overall cost of team budget it would not matter much employing a pair of drivers and the expense of travel. Dortmund's yellow bus looked good parked alongside the yellow sub at John Lennon a couple of season's back before the Europa League tie.
Agree entirely. Not exactly sure what a coach would cost, but I'd guess £250k would get you a decent one.
