Tesco one happened again there now. @Dub13 I'm not sure if it's just an issue with this site as it's happened to me others
That Tesco ad is very frequent for me.Proper pain in the hole.I use an android phone to access the site.
Very annoying today, starting to take over the phone when I am reading something whereas it was just doing that anytime I clicked something.
Sorry lads its a complex issue. I think I have a way to fix it but in order for me to identify the problem I will need a small bit of help. For me to get to the source I need you to post here the date and time you get it, that way I can backtrack and find the problem.
Right, anyone with problems on pop-ups with their Android phones will do well to use this app: Opera Browser...this eliminates all ads so have fun
Then if it's really only the pop-up adverts that bother you and you'd rather not have to install a second browser then these can be blocked in Google's own Chrome browser. Launch the browser, tap on the three dots at the top right of the screen, then choose Settings, Site Settings. Scroll down to Pop-ups and ensure the slider is set to Blocked.
An alternative to Opera is the free Ad-block Browser, made by the same company as the notorious AdBlock desktop extension. You can download the Adblock Browser free from Google Play.
Another option would be to go to Settings on your Android phone, Settings/Apps/Select apps one by one/Notifications to select Block; all only if app notifications are not important to you. This will reduce pop-up ads from third party applications significantly. Also, you can catch the culprit next time...if you see a pop up ad, immediately press the recent apps key, the first app displayed is the one posting ads! so good luck with that!
