You'd think so, but no. Despite having the choice to go ahead with the fixtures they took it upon themselves to postpone.
Am not surprised at all that the games are off. Was always happening Not saying I agree but I could see it coming
Would imagine theres a large number of fans who are going to find themselves out of pocket with travel and accommodation and trying to get stuff canceled 24 hours before the event. and now the PL have to try cram another round of fixtures into a schedule that is already stuffed (if theres even somewhere to fit them in)
Did anything happen in the previous hours/day that could possibly have impacted it? There's plenty to be moaning about but this isn't one of them.
But it was fine to have a Locals sale at 11am and fuck that up? I think this one is down to the TO this time
Strange all other sports are going ahead. Anyone think they are not going ahead as afraid of the reaction of some crowds to a minute silence and potential chants.
If they are its only prolonging the wait for it to happen. There WILL be people in every crowd who are less "Royalist" than others and will feel the need to make themselves heard. Unfortunately football is generally where these people congregate more so than other sports. Perhaps because regardless of the insane amounts of money now in the game, the vast majority still view it as the "common mans game". Hopefully they will go with black arm bands and leave it go at that but since both the Queen and William have personal involvements/positions in the FA, can only see the PL going with the minutes silence. We can only hope that no group of fans ostracizes themselves with inappropriately timed forwarding of their opinions
Why shouldn’t they be allowed? Freedom of speech. What has the queen ever done positive for this city? She was at the forefront of brushing Hillsborough under the carpet and point blank refused to attend anything to do with it amongst lots and lots of other things.
That's all fine but they're not going to actively put themselves in that embarrassing position because they know what could happen. But it's going to happen at some point regardless, they'll have to do a minutes silence for her when they eventually start playing.
Never heard any of that before, where did you get that info? BTW the idea our fans would boo is insulting, there must have been 100 minute silence at Anfield in the last 25 years and there has never been a peep.
