Qualifers/Friendlies are absolutely shite. But i love every summer tournament. Barely missed a minute so far.
Enjoying it. Great to see full stadiums. Atmosphere at the Hungary Portugal game was brilliant. I have a sneaky feeling Wales are going to a cause an upset or two. Ramsey and Bale with a bit of X Factor, Decent keeper.
not sure if they do it before all their home games but they were playing ynwa before the players came out for Denmark's game this evening.
I've seen one full half of football so far, the second half of the France Germany game. I'm so out of the loop that I didn't know England were playing Scotland until I heard it on the radio this morning. Will watch a bit of that and probably get into the tournament properly once the group stages are over.
Missed Belgium again. Good game by all accounts. Looking forward to England v Scotland tonight. Mrs Babbsnads England shirt arrived yesterday. I'll have to root for Scotland in this one
I was 16 and working with my Dad in Euro 96. The woman's house we were painting was English. It's sickening not to able to roar on Scotland that day, no such restrictions tonight.
It's rekindled my childhood passion for international football, it was fantastic stuff! Pure grit from Denmark and it was nearly enough but Belgiums quality just about carried them through.
pretty sure they said on the news last night that 20k scots were traveling down, some craic 8n London last night/ today I'd say.
Absolutely massive game this. Scotlands anthem is an absolute banger. Don’t give them much of a chance. Hopefully with Tierney back and Che Adams starting they might be a bit better than the last day out.
always a chance for the oppo when you have Pickford in goal. I'd say souness would love to be out there.
I genuinely never realized RTE we're horribly biased about ireland as I was just so used to it and then a pal from the UK was over watching a game with me and he couldn't stand it.
RTE gang like the rest of us look at the Irish set up and picture that Declan Rice and Jack Grealish could've been in it and get ever so slightly sour about it. They didnt do a lot of complaining when we were grabbing anyone with an Irish granny that could kick a ball in the 80's and 90's. Didnt see it myself but it made a few papers - Ronnie Whealans reaction to the Belgium and Denmark teams stopping at the 10 minute mark and applauding for Christian Erikson. According to Ronnie - no need for it - hes grand. Of course he could've gone the other way like Clive Tilsley - and congratulated Anthony Taylor for NOT sending off Simon Kjaer for the "last man" foul he committed early in the game - which mean according to Clive - Kjaer was exactly where he needed to be when the emergency occured. Yes Kjaer had a major hand in saving Eriksons life, but somehow I doubt that Taylor thought to himself "better leave this lad on the pitch, he knows CPR"
Wow England did not deal with that well tonight, Scotland got in their faces from the first whistle and England let it disrupt their rhythm. Luckily for them they won't face another emotional opponent like that.
Jack Grealish Jack Grealish Jack Grealish Jack Grealish. After 20 mins that's all you got. Not one pundit or English manager could spot exactly what was missing from an English point of view to speed up the play and it certainly wasn't the next Gazza pair. Kane is either carrying some sort of injury or completely fucked. Looks like a lad who won a competition to play with the national team.
That's not actually a bad result for either team but if England don't get Henderson back fit and Kane back firing, they won't come near the best teams in this tournament. The Grealish hype is exactly that,he ain't as good as Foden or Mount and isnt going to be the Knight in shining armour. That's not to say he can't have an impact, but they've built him up to a mythical place. Scotland were good, outplayed England overall.
That sterling possible pen gets given in every single PL game and that sums up those that run VAR in the league. Absolute charlatans. The amount of common sense on show by officials in CL and this tournament so far really highlights just how bad it has been implemented domestically.
