We're in freefall at the moment, no wins in 2017 and there looks to be no end in sight for us. I have to feel that fatigue is playing a massive factor in it, we're running around as much as always but the mental sharpness just isn't there for us and we aren't showing the same game intelligence that we had been.

Pity the timing of our slump but not unexpected with the small squad and the hectic schedule over christmas. Another season of what could have been.

A well deserved win for the Saints tonight I have to say, they've been absolutely brilliant defensively and on the break. OVer the 180 minutes they've been far superior to us and well deserved to be in the final.

Lack of pace and creativity in the final third again, it's been in line with performances for about 6 weeks now, mediocre.

Atkinson is a prick but they deserve it. Really struggling now when teams sit in. Need to get going soon or we'll be out of the top four

If Klopp has learned anything in recent weeks it's that he needs investment in the team, too many players are either not good enough or are shrinking violets when it matters.

That was a awful display for a semifinal. Each player should have a good look at themselves and turn this season around before we completely fade away.

Two really poor performances at home in last few days.

    Worrying.

We seem to want to try walk the ball in and always seem like were gonna be caught on counter attack. Cant blame Klopp for 10 players not turning up yet again. Proof we need a proper class midfielder and finisher. Sturridge looked lazy as usual

I genuinely believe the players are absolutely shattered. Squad is too small to sustain what Klopp is looking for from them over a season, he will have to tailor how we play a bit to adapt to the intensity of this league and not having a christmas break.

It must be said that the Saints were fantastic tonight, a brilliant away from home performance always comfortable knowing that they had a 1 goal cushion and anything on the break ended the tie effectively.
