Who is your player of the year 2008? All things considered it is very easy to pick our captain, however for me I am going to roll with Mr Alonso. For me attitude stands for a lot and with him being targeted as swap deal and fall throughs he still nuckled down and got on with the job. On the pitch imo he has been the most consistant. Good man Xabi, keep up the good work.
For his exploits this year I can't look past Nando as Player Of The Year. He has scored 20+ goals in the calendar year of 2008 despite being injured for a long period.
so hard to say. List would be - Riera, Reina and Carragher. Who to pick though I am arguing with so many people lately that Reina is the best keeper in the premiership. guy is quality!
In the calender year of 2008 it has to be Torres. Followed by Gerrard and Reina. This season up to now Alonso has been our player of the season so far with Gerrard a close second.
Nando is class in all fairness. Even if he played for Manure Id still have to say he is class ... thank God he came to us!!
Im really surprised to hear Carra mentioned a few times already? I love the guy, you cant fault his desire to see LFC win week in and week out but he is starting to leak at the back (and I dont mean piles) for the last 2 seasons. Wouldnt even have him in my top 4 to be honest. Xabi, Nando, Gerrard, Pepe.
Mate if Carra wasn't playing then you really Would see us leak!! He's crucial, very under-rated imo Your other 4 I wouldn't argue with though
Over the 12 months it would be between Gerrard and Reina for me. Torres has been injured for much of the 2nd half of the year and while Xabi has been excellent this season, he wasn't as effective in the last few months of last year due to injury and being off form.
Cant believe some of our fans still undervalue and search for chinks in Carra............Without him we wouldnt be the team we are now,fair enough the team doesnt revolve around him but like a clock 1 vital cog missing and the thing starts to fall apart.His OGs just bad luck for God sake and we have NO CHANCE of finding a defender who'll die for the cause more than JC.MR LFC imo and deserves to be part of a team thats challenging for the title.OUR BEST DEFENDER FACT!!!!!, and thats in no way a deroratory thing to say asd regards our other 3 centre halves,we have the best in the EPL imo.
Carra is a lynchpin to the side. The steel and character he has to along with his excellent defending has helped this side grow. He has three partners this season a Centre back. Hyypia, Skrtel and Agger, so he has being a constant figure in the side.
No one is under valuing Carra? No one is saying he is not our best defender? and no one certinly saying he is not Mr LFC? Maybe you should read the post again, you will see "imo" that I dont believe he is our best player of 2008 nor would I have him in my top four. I do believe he is not the player he was, Im not saying he is no good, Im not questioning his efforts for the cause. If you dont believe he is starting to leak a little more at the back then you must be only watching the highlights lad. I know this is a whole different post but as much I would want us too we dont have the best centre halves in the EPL either. I suggest you read the post about caps locks.

You dont have any defenders in your top 4 so with Carra been our best defender imo i feel you undervalue his efforts.
Im pleased to say there are many contenders - many people are forgetting masch.hes been superb.pepe has been sensational.gerrard as always was immense.xabi had an average season by his own standards last year but has pissed on the critics chips this season with some fantastic displays.he's shown alot of bottle to bounce back and deserves praise.Carra and skrtel has both been absolute rocks at the back while dirk,arby and faby arent genuine contenders but have come on leaps and bounds and made a significant contribution to our success. But for me there can only be one winner and that of course is mr fernando torres.We'd been crying out for a world class striker for so many years and then rafa signs the very best in the world.he has everything and is a class act both on and off the field.he,alongside stevie was our matchwinner on so many occasions and provided us with the hope for future success in an otherwise trophy barren season last year. Never since the days when fowler burst onto the scene had i been so excited about one player.nando gets my vote!
