    Match Thread.

1st game of a busy month ahead with home game 2/5 against the London teams, and the opportunity to extend the 45-year unbeaten home run against them for another season. :p

this game is interesting, we first get to see how manure and chelski get on. do they bounce back from dissapointing results last week. Will arsenal do us a favour?
we have an extra day or two rest for this but unfortunatly Torres is out yet again. it looks like he's gonna miss a few games so im expecting alot from keane. I hope he stakes his claim for his spot coz with a fit torres he doesnt look like he's gonne be a regular starter.
I hope Riera stays out wide and stretches the game, he did this in his first few games but has tended to drop inside lately.
its usually tough against the hammers but i think we should have enough to see them off and re-build momentum.

Im going over to this match and i was at the Marseille match.. if Liverpool preform badly
again it will be the last match i will go to for a while. The last West Ham match i went to
we beat them 4-1 Torres scoring a hat-trick and thats not going to happen this time
round as he is injured. Its time for some players to step up to the plate and show their
worth. With the Jan.. sales looming it could make or break some players.

The last time I was at a Liverpool v Hammers game, it was away a few years ago. We drew 0.0, Owen was still playing for us.

I walked into a hardcore hammers bar by accident with my liverpool scarf and my Irish accent, they were singing fairly racist songs so you can imagine I turned and ran .... I barley got out of the place!!

    Team for me

    Reina

Arbeloa Carra Agger Dossena (assuming Aurelio is out)

    Dirk Alonso Gerrard Riera

    Keane

    Babel

West Ham are all over the place at the moment so 3 points is a must for me. We can leapfrog Chelski then if Arsenal take anything from their game, also with the Manc Derby on this weekend we need to capitalise on any dropped points.

Bit nervous about this one. With Man C and Arsenal hopefully doing us a favour against Chelsea and ManU we really REALLY need to be getting 3 points. Can be no excuses on this one.

We have a relatively handy run of games here (WH, Blackburn, Hull) before the big game against Arsenal and we need to take all the points on offer.

Losing Torres is a blow but we've shown we're not a one man team and should be able to put WH away. Keane looked like hitting form with a brace a few weeks ago but nothing came of it. He needs to step up start getting goals consistently.

I'd agree with JesusTorres's lineup there.

    Reina
    Arbeloa Carragher Agger Aurelio

    Macherano Alonso

    Kuyt Riera
    Gerrard

    Keane

That's plenty strong enough to beat WH. Bring on Babel and/or Yossi to rest Masch/Gerrard/Riera/Keane if we're in control.

I'm expecting this to be our easiest match since Brom, as West Ham play a similiar type of game. Plus we usually thump them at home.

A repeat of last year's result, and a good warm-up for tougher games coming up should do.

With Aurelio out I would love to see Rafa play Sami and Jamie and put Dagger at left back. 3 points a must so playing any weak link (Dossena) needs to be avioded at all costs..the lad is a liability at the moment.

I would definitely go 4-4-2 with wingers on Monday night, a 4-2-3-1 formation at home to west ham is giving them WAY too much respect. Again our tactics will be determined by what happens on sunday................ come on citeh and the gooners!!:D

I think Babel needs to play this game, without him in the squad we will have absolutely no pace whatsoever. Don't really know where he could fit into the squad, maybe up front but swapping with kuyt throughout the game.
I'd leave masch on the bench to think about what went wrong on wednesday becasue he can't afford to have any more games like that!

That was the last West Ham match, and we beat them 4-0 in March.

We need to start this game like a runaway train, and try to blow WHU out of the water early on.

The last few games has seen us start fairly poorly, and we've suffered as the games went on.

I'd love to see Keane & Babel up front in this one, as Keane has the cunning, and Babel has the pace & power.

Alas, I cannot see rafa starting with both up top, but he did say midweek that he will be utilising his squad after the Marseille game.

Would also love to see Sami start, if only to give Dagger a run on the left.

    Reina

    Arbeloa, Sami, JC, Dagger

    Kuyt, Xabi, Stevie, Riera

    Babel, Keane

Thats as strong a starting 11 that we could play right now, with the exception of Sami.. maybe more than likely to be Dossena in for Fabio this weekend.
Again, I cant see Rafa going with Babel & Keane up front... but I think they would work well!!!!

Whatever the team, we need to start the game with all guns blazing!!!

yes we could do so with 3 points and a few goals and a clean sheet to get our confidence high going into december, after last week its hard to predict the starting 11

any one know our goal diff compared to cheski and and man u they both have hard games this week this could be another chance to go top...

ps it dosn't make much differnce to the out come of the league title if i mention gd its what the boys do on the pitch btw.

I think Sundays results are pretty irrelevant to be honest. We have got to look to beat ALL average teams at Anfield, no more exceptions.

    ---------------Reina--------------
    Arbeloa---Carra----Agger--Dossena

    Pennant--Stevie-----Xabi----Babel

    ----------Kuyt----Keane----------

Drop Riera to bench, rest Masch completley.

Before I get bashed for picking Pennant, I wanted it noted that West Ham are about his level, he does well against shit teams.

Id like to see Insua instead of Dossena and give El Zahr a chance. From what Ive seen of himself and Babel recently El Zahr looks more interested in performing
