About time he had his own thread, the helper of many with all things technical Has been helping me all morning with something and I just want to say thanks a million, you have the patience of a saint
I'll get around to as much as I can later, this thread will be handy for me to keep an eye on things. Bogged down in work, and have a lot of other stuff going on and some side projects so as you can imagine I'm quite busy at the moment, Im living on a 7am to 4.30am day at the moment and still have no time to myself. But stick the requests in here and I'll do what I can in a timely manner, Tilly I'll sort you later this evening. Maj, I'll get the rest of that sorted for you after lunch. Oh thanks for the thread and the kind words
Fair play Elvis! Very helpful lad and always gives his suggestions/recommendations/opinions on all things IT to anyone than asks. Thanks! PS: How in the name of God are you functioning on less then 3 hours sleep a night?!? I know you have youth on your side but...
I ahve that link for you mate, but cant send it from work, for obvious reasons, will pop it off to you this evening, . I seem to function better with less sleep,. than more sleep, so the 3-4 hours a day does me fine, still manage to fit training in twice a week also
Elvis, my brother has changed his mind and isn't gonna give me his laptop. So I'm on the lookout for a basic one with the following requirements: - Cheap as possible - Smaller and lighter the better, as will be over and back between England and Ireland - Mainly(almost solely)used for tinternet - Has basic Office if I ever need it I'm living in Engerland, so if I can pick one up on the cheap here or online I'd be delighted. Thanks
Best bet is to get yourself a little netbook, 10.1 inch screen does all teh basic stuff, fairly stylish, and weighs about a 1KG, dead handy for travel. Think I seen a few on adverts, fairly cheap. Can grab one of them for about 150. I'm using a Dell D410 as a travel laptop, and its the business. You can pick one of them up for between 120 and 280 depending on spec and condition, but can be upgraded by yourself for a fraction of the cost, I'll have alook when I get home, and see If i can find a few that may suit on either side of the water for ya,.
I like it, may get my hands on one of those,. That or just print it out and stick it to my desk in work, the IT guys have it easy, no one goes to them anyway, I'm quicker more effiecient, sociable and friendly so everyone comes to me, pain in the whole at times having to do 2 jobs and only be paid for one,. but I love it really,.
Paddser, heard this sale being advertised on the radio this morning. Could suit you - has a Netbook with MS Office preloaded: http://www.komplett.ie/Komplett/site/campaign/Top5_HP/cms.aspx @ Elvis: Now that you have a dedicated thread not sure if I should have crashed it with this info?!?
Fair play to ya - great to help others. I'm a software developer myself, however family and friends all think that because of such it also means I can fix PC's etc. Which I don't mind (and would love to help), and understand why people think such - but it can be awkward trying to explain to people what I do and how a PC is the tool I use to accomplish doing my job (if it breaks I need to get a sys admin guy to fix it - if you're a secretary and the fax machine breaks - you get someone to fix it, etc). So hence the old thinkgeek t-shirt joke
cracking little laptop here http://www.komplett.ie/Komplett/pro...Mini_110_3101SD_N455/XE929EA_ABH/default.aspx Its 309 in Littlewoods
Me thinks your getting paid for the job your not doing and getting nothing for the job you are doing. Good work Elvis, keep it up until you get caught
