Hopefully Alonso's injury won't be too bad - After seeing him limp off last night it looked like a re-occurence of his metatarsal injury.

Also looked like mascharano hobbled off with a hamstring injury, Hopefully not as loosing these two would put a huge dent in our title ambitions.

For me he has been our best player this season by a country mile. Plays some lovely stuff. A proper LFC midfielder. We are gonna miss him, big time.

last thing we need is him missing for a period of games - no one in the squad with his range of passing ability might force benitez hand with formation if he is gone and go back to 442

Hopefully he wont be out for too long.
Having an excellent season and a very clever footballer.

On a side note , injuries to players this season in a perverse way has possibly strengthened the teams believe in winning #19 IMO. Winning games like United at home without Stevie and Torres or Chelsea away without Nando and Skrtle has had to have had a very positive effect on the squad.

Not that Id want any more from now on mind.

Glad its nothing more serious than a gash. Any update on Mascherano's injury?

Alonso has been rejuvenated this season and its a relief that the Gareth Barry deal fell through at this stage

Hope to God he aint gone for too long, as it was extremely noticeable in the Preston game just what Xabi brings to the team.

He went off and we lost control...

Xabi is the tempo orchestrator in the team, he is a "fit" Jan Molby!!!

    :)

Is the fact we haven't heard anything by now a good thing or bad? I just can't decide

Nothing official I guess but Marca are reporting that it's nothing serious, no bone damage, and the cut was minor and will heal pretty sharply - possible in for stoke on saturday :)
