The situation in Anfield with clueless Irish seems to be worse than ever. I'm sure most on here know the score, so it's up to everyone to have a word and educate those going over, whether it be mates or someone you know, something has to be done before it's too late. At this stage, the Irish wont be welcome in Anfield in the next few years and you can hardly blame the locals.

Dressing up as Santa, Elvis, etc. to the match is not cool or funny, yet a lot of Irish going the match seem to think so. Jester hats are also a deffo no no.

Something 'wacky' on the back of a replica is also common these days, it really is horrific and it normally comes back to Irish fans, which disgusts any good red.

Keep the cameras and video phones away for the match, it's not a theatre.

Some reds over here do still read he s*n, no one can deny it.

Treating the city with disrespect isn't on either, we must remember we're guests of Liverpool and not treat it like boozed up brits would treat Magaluff.

Always hear stories of Irish fans getting on players or rafas back, give the team 100% support at all times, apart from Dossena ;) .

Last of all, generally dont be acting like a drunken tit, it's not a holiday or a nightclub.

All of the above are examples of Irish going over, and as I already said I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted on here but it's up to us to put this right, as it's all this that's giving us a bad name, and lets face it we are in the minority now. Make sure your mates and any reds you know are clued up on RTK, SOS, HJC and other important issues surrounding the club.

We're all lucky to be reds, lets not allow others ruin it for us.

What people need to do is very simple. They need to act like decent human beings and respect the people and the city. If they do that, they will have no problems.

Forget about having knowledge of the RTK or SOS. Any football fan worth their salt knows about the HJC and that campaign, nevermind a Liverpool fan.

I put it this way. If you are thinking about doing something, ask yourself this question, "Would I like it if someone did that in my city". If you are a respectable person and its wrong then the answer will be "no". If you are some class of knacker and you still do it, then I hope you get the bollocks knocked out of you.

I checked his profile in all fairness he's 16 years old and knew about hillsborough. He said he didnt know HJC meant the hillsborough justice campaign. He may be lying but still il give him the benefit of the doubt considering his age

fair enough but I know for a fact there's plenty of 'reds' in this country that wouldn't know what the HJC was if you asked them. Problem is now that these kind of fans are starting to travel over more often.

Yeah it is so true tho i mean the irish really are gettin a bad name for all sorts.

Having jerseys at the games with stupid printin on the back of it or irish flags at liverpool games etc is defo gonna really piss off the locals and i dont blame them.

Fly into manchester alot n get the train down and alot of the time you do see the irish lads with bags of beer and acting the clown for no reason and those that would be quiet, you would see the odd 1 with all the liverpool gear on and he would be reading the Sun paper.

Have heard Stories to of alot of drink related reports in town after the games.

Even in Istanbul in that make-shift tent for a departure area we where kept in, there was only a handful of the morning papers and yet a few irish lads next to me picked up the Sun paper and bought it, and they got so much abuse for buying it that after a min they just threw it on the ground and had to walk away.

I think its lookin for trouble bringing a tri colour but you see a few spanish flags on the Kop and I have often seen Finnish flags and Danish at the ground. Do locals get pissed of by those also?

I would say a lot of the trouble in the city is caused by lads on stags and also the jovial Irish Student population in Liverpool rather than fans over for games.

The Spanish flag thing is completely different,Spanish flags are a representation of our ties with so many Spanish citizens involved in our club. These flags are owned by Scouse,Irish,Finnish,Indian. The Irish tricolour(guaranteed to be carried by an Irish person) or Finnish flag(guaranteed Finn) whatever is there as representation of the mongo holding it, as point to pick himself out in the crowd when he looks at highlights of the game, nothin else.Theres no place for national flags in Anfield but fully understand why spanish ones are there.KEEP FLAGS SCOUSE,simple as.

Slightly disagree with your view as well over whos liable to cause trouble in Lpool, as a trip down to O Niells any match nite after the game will show you exactly whats wrong, with the type of people that touts and rip off merchants love to see turning up in Lpool for matches.

I have never seen trouble in O'Neills or any pubs around the city centre after match, be it from Irish fans or just general people out on Saturday nights. Plenty of people out of their trees drunk, but thats it. Its one of the best things about Liverpool, people can go out for night out without cocks of bouncers tellin you that you have had one too many or you are not wearing the right shoes.

I suppose it depends on what you define as 'trouble'.

Im sure that most LFC fans that post on forums like these, and read articles about LFC know what sort of behaviour is acceptable and not acceptable when going to matches.

But what % of LFC fans post on sites like these???

The number would be too small to mention tbh..

I'd also bet that every LFC fan on this site knows that Tricolours and the like are a no-go when visiting Liverpool/Anfield..

Which begs the question... who is this thread aimed at??
    Newbies??
There really aint alot of those at the moment, and chances are that if they're looking for an internet LFC forum, they most certainly know the issues already...

Exactly. We are as well sticky this sort of thread so that all the boggers and red necks and scumbags who clearly read this site before traveling over and shaming the country by not knowing what to do at matches ,or which hands to hold themselves with when they are going to the toilet over there, know what they are getting themselves in for.

Lads I dont want to be annoyed by muppets at matches or on a night out either, but its sods law that you will get idiots everywhere you have a group of people. The same muppets from Limerick, Glasnevin or Glenamaddy who will acting like eejits while on a trip to Liverpool would do the very same if they were going to Dublin or Galway for a night out. It would be great if they didnt, but they are just tools.

I really dont think getting worked up and posting here will actually do alot to change it, sorry but as Crazyhorse says, you are kind of preaching to the converted (although there are a few of the demographic on this site, but from the quality of their overall posts and contribution I dont think they will change)

Apologies for the rant of sorts, I am not personally aiming this at Gazelle, Liamo or any of the guys above. Keep leading by your great examples on your trips to Liverpool though!!!!
