All fair mate. I put an article up the other day from a City fan talking about how fans shouldn't automatically have to consider the backgrounds of who's funding them and I think that goes for the players and staff as well. Everybody can draw their own lines, the world can be a fucked up place but we all have to live in it. But they shouldn't be expected to defend the indefensible either,I think that's where a lot of them are letting themselves down and where Abu Dhabi are exploiting the tribal nature of football.

The real proof in the pudding with be if Inland Revenue investigate them. Its one thing filing false financial documents to UEFA and the Premier league, if they filed them with the government too they'll be in a whole world of shit.

Their chairman said he'd rather spend 30m on lawyers and sue UEFA for 10 years than accept punishment, fire away so, no way they'd be playing in UEFA competitions while all thats going on and they won't attract and keep stars if they aren't.

If they ban them from the champions league don’t see what appealing it will do , UEFA just don’t put them in the draw

I’d prefer to see a very long transfer ban .

Did anyone else hear that there is another case pending by FIFA over the underage signing of 5 players by city a while back. Could be another ban heading der way.

UEFA would be CL ban as its highest punishment which IMO would need to be longer than a season if it were to have any real affect, they don't need the money from it and players would wait out a years ban, any longer and they might consider their positions. Although no CL money makes it harder for them to break even if they suddenly have to start playing by the rules.

FA and FIFA I believe relates to dodgy transfers so would likely end with transfer bans, read during the week FIFA are close to the end of their investigation and want a years transfer ban.

I'm not expecting much from the premier league, certainly not points deductions. Simon Hughes said last week their investigation isn't particularly aggressive as they have no CEO right now so there is nobody to drive it. Its a "make it look good" exercise. Think they'll be the last to announce any results, they'll wait and see what the others do to them first.

There is more to the investigation than FFP, UEFA are not even investigating them for that, they are looking into to fact they were lied too, as Mick has said numerous times they either also lied to the English authorities or submitted accounts that UEFA can google and say hold on a minute lads they look a tad different to what you gave us.

In the case the FA they can probably also investigate them on their FFP rules as they have never done it before, they will also have to look at the third party registering of players, this is what West Ham got done for with Tevez and Mascherano, City specifically lied to the FA over this after being asked who owns these players. Given the rules are much clearer than they were 10-15 years ago the punishment needs to be severe. Say the FA/PL go as easy as they can on them and issue a fine of £20m, couple that with lost revenue of £100m (just for getting to the QF) then thats £120m they need to they need to find, it's either sell players, reduce the wage bill or cook the books one more time.

The other issue is how other teams react to the the findings, Sheffield United got awarded 30m by the FA for loss of earnings following they're relegation, how much did we lose in commercial revenue this year? Man Utd last year? Arsenal for missing out on Champions league? City can tie the FA/UEFA up in the court for donkeys years but so can we and the other affected club's. I don't know how it all works but I'd imagine as a business registered on the stock exchange Man Utd would nearly be obliged to go after who ever has cost them money.

Tranmere score in the last minute of extra time 1-0. Back to back promotions if they hang on.

If he wants to prove his detractors wrong he can compete with Salah and Mane for a wide berth in our front 3 but I don't fancy his chances at his age!

You'd imagine Barca look at us and think - "we play the same type of football - front foot, fullbacks bombing on, and we have Messi ffs. How did they do us 4-0?"
Couple of major differences between the sides in that 2nd leg (and in general to be fair)
Our fullbacks, know half the game is getting back after bombing forward, if they dont, our wide men and midfield fill in rapidly for them. Barca's FB's are left to their own devices, and seem to forget they have a job at the other end of the pitch, case in point - that chance Jordi Alba had right at the end of the first half, after Alisson made the save and gathered the ball, Alba stood in our box, hands on hips, making no effort to get back where he should be. On another Barca break - Pique was the furthest man forward, at a point in the tie that they were 3-1 up still. Move breaks down and Pique ambles back towards his actual position as we broke, granted it didnt come to anything, but still.

Barca are at a point where their own league isnt a challenge and get away with hollywood football there week in week out. We on the other hand were playing every game like it was a final most of the season. Their problem is, once outside their own league they run into teams, that are in fact TEAMS that play together as a unit and can cope with the Barca method, and are plenty stong enough to beat them. Barca dont seem to have learned that yet (thankfully). Even after the first leg, surely Valverde would have sat his players down and told them "yes you won 3-0, but......." it was the weirdest 3-0 I've seen in a long time. I recall vividly sitting there after the game wondering.....how the hell was that 3-0?.

You can bet your bottom dollar that come next year in the knockouts, Barca will be praying to be away in the first legs all the way.
