Mate of mine had to pick up a duplicate for my card earlier in the season they made him ring me on the spot and pass the phone through the window before they issued anything was fine though no hassle, its people just touting every game with access to multiple cards that they are trying to clamp down on and rightly so think its abit unfair to pick on genuine fans giving to a mate or family but then again theyll argue it defeats purpose of additional sale which alot of us here seem to rely on too.

It depends who you get at the ticket office really. There are a few different scenarios

    1. Person using the card knows they need to pick up a dup and may have the card owner lined up
    2. Person using the card doesn’t think they need a dup and card goes red at turnstiles. Steward sends them to TO. This a more messy situation as card owner may not be lined up
    3. Person using the card gets checked inside the stadium and gets the card taken off them as they say it’s not theirs.

According to the ticket office it’s not all about ticket touting, they need to know who is in the ground for safety reasons.

Man Utd did the same I think? Unless that was for their PSG game?

    Full tweet:

Barcelona charging #LFC fans €119 for tickets for the first leg at the Nou Camp. As a result Liverpool will charge Barca fans €119 for the game at Anfield and use the €31 extra to subsidise tickets for the 4,600 Kopites travelling to Spain.

Fair play to both Liverpool and Utd. €119 for a single game in a tie is ridiculous.

I'll never get overly excited about paying €88 to watch a game of football through a pair of binoculars from up in the Gods in one of the worst stadiums in Europe to be an away supporter.

Sure the normal price for their league games is €110. That’s what I paid in Feb when they played Valencia

600 tickets have to be collected in Barcelona. A high amount. Big it is a semi final so most people who own will go.

Bots used to circumvent ticket purchasing will be banned following the provision of legislation by the European Parliament

Just seen that on hotpress twitter. Banned from June. Not sure how they will police it but good news.

I think Liverpool (and all ticket selling industries) have already being trying to prevent bots. Maybe the new legislation will mean they'll increase the time and money they spend to try and prevent it. Good news alright.

Govt agencies are unfortunately always behind the curve when its comes to bots and hacking. I wish they weren't though. It will take time to eradicate them as they are quite small and always find a way around things.

Can't we employ a lot of IT people to improve it and prevent it? If we managed, it would make tickets a lot better and queues a lot easier.

Would save you a lot of potential hassle if you got your friends card anyway . If you get one late ,you save yourself and your friend all the hassle you would have had from the TO if you needed to get a dupe. If you don’t get one then he gets the card back with no damage done .

If you get one and go to TO for a dupe, it just potentially draws unnecessary scrutiny to your friends account . If I was your friend I’d give you the card anyway . Happy days if you get one -no harm done if you don’t

    Logistics question

I was meant to collect a few cards earlier in week in Monaghan but didn’t.

If they are sent by express post by 5 today, would I get them in my post tomorrow or would I be safer just going down to get them myself to be sure?
