So what shows do you all listen into when in work or whatever,I am only recently starting to listen to Ray Darcy.I used to listen to Tom Dunne but after a while he did my head in.In the evening its Mat Cooper all the way,its a top show and miles ahead of Hook.
I listen to Radio 1 for the news on the way into work, then Darcy until 12, immediately change the station before that knob head Foley comes on. Have no set station from 12 to 1, then the news at 1 on RTE followed by Joe depending on my mood or Nova for the rest of the day. Plan on getting an internet radio soon enough.
Totally agree with you there - Matt Cooper is pretty much the only show I tune into regularly. In the mornings I just put on music - morning radio wrecks my head
hes like marmite!!hahah.always loved his radio show, but think hes a douche on take me out! if its not Ipod its today fm for me
Classic hits all day, David Harveys phone in does be good Also heard the late show with Niall Boylon can get very heated
I don't think I have ever listened to more than 5 min of joe duffy,I don't think I could stand it for much longer. Talking history on newstalk on a Sun night is also a great show.
Newtalk in the morning (for the banter from Ivan Yates) and today fm for the Matt Cooper show, apart from that maybe off the ball an odd time.
6.30 to 7 Today Fm ( on way to work Louise Duffy I think her name is) 10-11 keys and Grey on talksport okay programme but it takes far to many adds. 12.00 1-30 news talk lunchtime show 1.45 3 joe Duffy 3 4.30 tony Fenton 4.30 7 last word 10. -11 Adrian Kennedy phone show Weekends the 606 podcasts.
We listen to Newstalk at work just cos it's the handiest instead of changing all day....cos I can't stand D'arcy's gammy nicey nice act, Jenny's worse....and Foley. sheesh. He gets on my wick!!! Yates does my head in....Tom's ok but he's just easy listening and not very controversial. Moncriefe is an absolute LEGEND. Love him. The lunchtime show is the only reason i'd stay in tune with the goings on in this country! And only have to suffer 30mins of George before I leg it home! Oh and 2FM has a golden year thing at 6pm that I'd listen to if I had the radio on....then off the Ball if I'm listening...very rarely...I like Owen....Ken not so much.
Q102 is good to have in background if working. Aloot of 80's & 90's classic tunes. but they repeat them alot
2FM - Hector on way to work and Will Leahy on bus home. Used to not like Hector before I started listening to him in the mornings now I think he is deadly. Used to listenen to FM104 phone show every night for long time, used to half a right laugh at that.
nova's piped over the tannoy in work so if im on earlies its moncrieff on the way home if im on late its off the ball.
Just following on from something I seen in the app thread. Anyone who has Tunein Radio and listens to stations from other countries can they recommend any good shows and when they are on.
Moncrieff and OTB (religiously). Have binned Hook though. Can't believe he still gives that horrible, small minded bigot Michael Graham, air-time every Monday. Sure, having someone controversial on can be good entertainment, but this guy's views on stuff like the war on (of) terror, Guantanamo Bay, immigration and "Towel Heads" shouldn't see the light of day. It's beyond irritating and closer to being dangerous. Tried giving Nova a go but it turned out to be the same 15 songs, played every 3 hours.
Can't believe Hook gets air-time!! Awful show. Morning Ireland is depressing...Newstalk breakfast even though covers similiar stories has a laugh, would be nothing without Yates...Last Word is and has been the best late afternoon show for the last 10 years - no question.
