Does anyone know, is this an ongoing thing from the Bundesliga or was Pep less obsessed back then?

 

I don't think mind games work or ever really have. In saying that I do think Pep would be the easiest target in the history of the premier league. He always looks like he's on the verge of a mental break down. A mere mention of oil, money, human rights, no champions league without Messi, failed drug test, empty stadium, any of the above would set him off.

 

I don't think they work on players or managers but possibly referees are more prone to being influenced by what's being said in the media or by high profile managers.

 

Whiskey nose ruled with fear for decades in PL, didnt have the same effect with European refs.

 

City fans are obsessed with the idea they dont get enough praise and they might be taking their cue from Guardiola,he seems a bit insecure considering his achievements.

 

They don't get the praise they should get, 100 points followed by the treble and it's like it never happened. It's beautiful to see.

 

Lads I’ve come down with an illness this morning so I’m 50/50 about going over for the Genk game, if I don’t go does it still count as a credit on my card or is it only if you scan it?

 

I agree but on the other hand they dont get the criticism they should get either and if you were watching that football and achieving those things would you be very upset that enough people aren't gushing over you? In a weird way I think being too good lessens the praise they get as people are a bit precious about how competitive the PL is,many were adamant Guardiola couldn't do what he did in other leagues with his style of football and it's not in football fans or the medias nature to admit they're wrong. It's far easier to traverse to their financial advantages and reputation for cheating.

 

I think it's more simple than that. They're just not liked, I have no evidence of this but the lack of reporting around their finances and subsequent investigations leads me to believe they have muzzled the press. You can't do that on one hand and expect them to pull you off with their other hand.

What they done to Watford in the FA Cup was a terrible lack of self awareness too that probably broke the camels back. Piling forward like you're 1 nil down when you're actually 6 nil up was just unnecessary. They were the cool kid at school that takes the piss and makes people laugh but they just took it far until it strayed into bullying.
