Delighted for him and fully deserved this year. Drove us on, led by example and when he was out we missed him.

    He's in good company.

    Henderson is the 12th Liverpool player to be awarded the accolade, after;
    Ian Callaghan (1974),
    Kevin Keegan (1976),
    Emlyn Hughes (1977),
    Kenny Dalglish (1979 and 1983),
    Terry McDermott (1980),
    Ian Rush (1984),
    John Barnes (1988 and 1990),
    Steve Nicol (1989),
    Steven Gerrard (2009),
    Luis Suarez (2014) and
    Mohamed Salah (2018).

In the 17 years between 74 and 90, a Liverpool player won it ten of the years. Some going.

When is the date for PFA announcement anyone know?

Delighted for him and thoroughly deserved. For me flip a coin between himself Sadio and KDB for PFA. Personally hope it's the captain

Delighted Jordan got the player of the year award, however similar to Giggs a few years ago, this is a recognition for all his hard worK over years rather than standing out as best player in the league this season. Personally I’d go for Mane as best player this season, around October/November he made the difference in so many games.

Trent would not be far of as player of the year either. He has unbelievable going forward and from set pieces. One of the best attacking in the whole league.

What a captain. This nearly had me teary eyed reading it. Shows how much he meant to the team and the skipper .

Is there anyone out there that still doubts him as a captain? There were a few on here that did at one point.

Love Hendo to bits. I’ve never had a players name on my shirt but got last seasons with his, absolute legend!

Thats beautiful from Hendo but I must admit there's a part of me that thinks Dejan's ego shared that letter as much as his love for his captain.

Brilliant from the skipper. I imagine there's not a whole lot you could get modern day footballers that would make much difference to them but that will be something Dejan will treasure.

I think alot of fans did doubt him as captain when he got the arm band in 2015.. But over the course of the last 5 years he has shown what a great leader and captain he is both on and off the field. :)

last 3/4 years been amazing. I'm not going to hide,I was ones questioned it at start.
Nobody else deserves to lead this great team, with the amount of crap he got at start from the fans, Rodgers trying flog him to Fulham.
What he does on the field and off the field screams of an excellent Liverpool captain.

Andy Robertson: “When our crowd sung that song ["We're gonna win the league"] as emphatically as they did we had to believe it, of course we did. If you said you didn’t believe it, you’d be lying.”

“Actually, there may have been one exception: Jordan Henderson.”

"During this period Hendo was so focused & driven that I don’t think he could have got caught up in the excitement if someone had knocked at his door with the trophy and said it was done. To say he was in the zone would be one of the understatements of the season. At Melwood, his influence was absolute. He literally didn’t have to say anything. He could have remained silent because the example he was setting on the training pitch and in games was so powerful that words were no longer required. He got us through some of those games with a combination of strength of character and individual talent. He just took it to another level, showing just why he is captain of this club by keeping us all together and being our leading force."

“He deserves greater credit for his ability. When I retire I'll look back and say he was one of the most underrated players I played with. Take away his leadership, work-rate, & effort - his footballing quality is good enough to captain & play for one of the great LFC teams.”

    Love this!

I thought he was very good last 30 but was part of the problem before that. The stats there back it up, most touches, I felt he was demanding the ball in positions he didn't to be, he was adding an extra pass and slowing down an already slow performance.

    Jaysus why arent I surprised?

Ive come to the conclusion that some deity read all the "Liverpool won the title cause of an injury to Laporte, and they didnt have any at all....ever" and decided to take a deity sized crap all over the Liverpool squad
