Game of Thrones

Can;t find a thread for this, though I thought there was one last year.

Anyone else watching this.? I think its class myself.

 

Yup, it's deadly... first 2 episodes (of season 2) were boring enough... but I'm going to watch 3 & 4 tonight heard they are a bit better

yeah season 2 has been a bit slower starting off. season 1 was brilliant

Good timing finished watching Season 1 last night , great finishing scene and can i just say Phoaar , she can be my Khalessi anytime she wants.

Watched it over a couple of weeks and think it also started slowly but well worth watching. Hearing the HBO theme at the start is usually a sign of quality.

Will be watching season 2 very soon.

By the way I'm looking for Pam's number , I emailed her last week and haven't heard back. I have a possible treat for her and need to talk today.

really enjoyed season 1 so much so I got all the books which kept me going until this season started , I normally get each episode on a Mon evening , maybe it's just me but they seem to be straying a bit from the books more so with season 2 but still loving it

 

Ive been listening to the audiobooks and am almost finished book 5.
Im really enjoying them.
I only watched season 1 a few weeks back and of course was disappointed. Its very hard for any onscreen production to live up to the book.
I'll stick with season 2 and see how it goes but I'd recommend the books to any fans.

 

I love it. Hell of a lot of characters but great plots. It's no Spartacus, but it'll do.

I thought season 1 was very similar to the book, season two is slighty different but still good.

Read all the books myself, great reads,

 

They have to stray remember Martin still has 2 books to write to complete his story and as it takes him roughly 5 years to write a book it'll be roughly 2022 when he releases book 7 which will be long after the show ends.

You have to get used to the series being based on the books not adaptions. The Walking Dead has done the same, the overall story is similar but they have changed characters and what happens to them.

 

Can anyone whos read the novels and watches the series tell me if the TV series is based on The "Song of Ice and Fire series" in its entirety or is series 1 based on "Game of Thrones" and series 2 on "A clash of Kings" and so on?
Been reluctant to watch the series as the novel series is such an iconic series in the Fantasy genre I couldnt see the tv series doing it justice.
Given all the reviews I've seen though I might have to rethink that.

 

the series do seem to be following the timelines of the books , I think hbo just prefered to use game of thrones as the title

 

I'd heard he's finished working on book 6 but he doesnt know what to do with book 7 so it could be awhile before that ones finished. No idea how true this is.

Very much so Eric Every episode is like a mini-movie... no expense spared i'd say!

 

Anyone know if this is finished for good yet or if there will be more coming?

I was hoping to wait til it was entirely finished and then watch it all.

Anyone know if they're making more or did it stop at season-2?
