It would appear to be a bit behind the videos released by Carrillion, but I am sure there is plenty of time to catch up. It's not next August though for the opening but August 2017.
According to the Echo it's supposed to open for the start of 2016/17 season Lionel http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fcs-new-anfield-main-8228162
Same as this season, first game away from home and last game away from home in season 2016/17. I'd imagine that the club would want a high profile friendly before the summer of 2017/18. It would probably be a health and safety requirement as well. They should invite Celtic fans to test the structure. Who remembers the Celtic fans bouncing in Anfield Road making the stand 'wobble'? http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...umping-celtic-fans-make-it-wobble-696443.html
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/stadium-expansion The expansion project is on target to complete during the 2016/17 season.
Have just checked, and it does seem I was wrong with the 20 month building program. Have to admit my posts have also been based on me thinking that the construction would take much longer that just another eight months. The website of Carillion would seem to be a bit vague on completion date. http://www.carillionplc.com/news-me...-of-liverpool-football-club.aspx#.VldRCfnhC00 'The Main Stand expansion project remains on target for completion during the 2016/17 season, with the redeveloped stand set to comprise three tiers and the existing lower tier re-profiled to accommodate a widened player tunnel, new team benches, media platform and wheelchair viewing positions.'
It really makes the old stand in Anfield look absolutely tiny. I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
