Getting very excited about this lad. Wouldn't be surprised if himself or Elliott get some proper game time at the start of the season.

Yes he looks a serious prospect, playing games week in week out with Fulham last year can only have helped his development & experience and Klopp won't be afraid to use him hopefully!

What has this lad done to piss off Jurgen. he looked really good in some games earlier in the season and hit the ground running quicker than Gakpo

He is a championship level player. Like Sessegnon at Spurs.

There's a poster on Toutless, same username, looks for an awful lot of Arsenal tickets. Now I may be totally wrong here ....

Wondering what’s going on with the lad , think he has only made the bench twice in the last 6 or more games .

Playing him out on the wing imo isn’t where he is anywhere near his best .

Interested where Klopp sees his role not forgetting the lad is still only 20.

I wonder is there something going on alright.

Did he refuse to play for Portugal few months ago?

For some reason I think he has a bit of attitude from watching him play. But that could be totally wide of the mark.

Yeah fair enough. It isn't a great look though is it.

He is miles off getting near their first team.

He's a player in Liverpool's first team squad, he doesn't need to be going way for international duty to play with the U21s he has absolutely nothing to gain from it, and everything to lose. He could get injured, he'd miss time training with Liverpool and fall further down the pecking order, he could be played out of position, in the wrong formation, with the wrong tactics, he could play bad all pushing him further back in his Liverpool career and damaging his reputation. All he needs to do, is keep the head down, stay at Liverpool during the international breaks unless he gets the senior call up, and put the work in. He'll be back in the fold in no time.

Yeah I take your point. But my thinking is if he isn't getting into the Liverpool team that regularly and realistically he is a bit off doing so. What's the problem with going away playing football with Portugal under 21 in competition. Change of scenery and he might get on the senior teams radar.

Rather than staying at Liverpool training and playing some under 23 games that mean very little. If I was in his position I would rather be playing.

Speculating here but it looks another case of Klopp thinking he will learn more from training and watching. Robertson and Fab had the same thing, albeit they were older than Carvalho is.
