Southgate said Sterling ruled out injured for their next game but will be fit for weekend conveniently enough. We need to do what City are doing and what Utd have done for 20 years and look after our own players as much as possible, especially when it cones to fkn friendlies.
How many players did City withhold from the England and other national squads? I honestly think that we're just sensitive to these things more because we pay so much attention to the Liverpool players. City tend to have massive numbers playing in all sorts of International and youth squads and same as ourselves they probably don't have much sway over their players who want to go and represent their countries.
Last months internationals:Timo Werner was ruled out of Germany's international friendly against Turkey on Wednesday with a "slight cold". Sterling also withdrew from England squad with an injury even though both played 90 minutes the previous weekend without fuss aswell as both of their next PL games Every top club does it now and again but some obviously take the pias a lot more than others.
That's only two players mate and one of them with a cold in the current Covid 19 environment is never going to be playing and my understanding in that instance is that he was actually with the international squad when he developed it so that would suggest that it was no tactical sickness by Chelsea. If players feel they are fit to report for international duty and want to play then it should not Klopp or Liverpool's policy to try and prevent them, it goes against everything that Klopp is all about.
That's only 2 players as an example from last international break. You hardly want me to go through every player crying off. I'm not going to waste my time or effort naming names when its clear its happening. As stated above Sterling is at it this time again with England. Also it's naive to think that because players link up with their international team that tactical sickness or injuries don't happen
He's the player that when he's involved gives me the most confidence the team will be at it. I'm convinced the Villa result doesn't happen if he was playing.
I think we don't focus enough on how good his natural ability is and what quality he brings to the team as an integral player. He needs to stop being a top class chap and an incredible captain for awhile so we can see it.
Such a simple thing but it makes a huge difference in that lads life. As good a captain as we've ever had.
Like when did that happen?!! And it is absolutely bloody true! I've like most on here always defended his 'captain ability' but he got it constantly from a large section of our fans (and a few on here) that he was not captain material. It must've been 12-18 months ago fans were calling for VVD to become the club captain...so how has he went from in a lot of fans eyes as not the right captain to one of the best we've ever had?! I fuckin' love him!!
